The volunteers at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago are seeking walkers for its Friends of the Poor Walk.
The Friends of the Poor Walk is a one-mile stroll take place at two locations on two separate days in September. The first walk will be on Sept 24, 2011 from 8 a.m. to noon at Lake Katherine, 7402 W. Lake Katherine Drive, Palos Heights. The second walk takes place on Sept 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at DePaul University, 2250 N. Sheffield, Chicago.
The funds raised through the Friends of the Poor Walk stay in the local community to assist with programs and services Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides for the poor and underprivileged.

Participants have the choice to walk at a north or south location. They also have the option to select the conference and/or council to represent.
