Palos Heights Farmers Market

The Palos Heights Garden Club (PHGC), which
meets at Lake Katherine monthly, and sponsors/maintains several gardens at Lake
Katherine, looks forward to being at the Farmers Market on Wednesday August 14.
. The PHGC has this year helped Lake Katherine embark on its 10 year
Master Plan by developing a new Butterfly Garden at Lake Katherine based on
more than six butterfly attracting Native Plant Species. We will be
highlighting to Market visitors how the PHGC "promotes gardening through
sharing knowledge", members talents, and resources while developing
community pride, environmental concern, and a sense of friendship and
fulfillment". We will be offering visitors an opportunity to join the PHGC
at the Farmers Market.

Join
the Palos Heights Library at 10 AM for another fun-filled story hour. Miss
Rebecca will be doing "Old MacDonald" stories for the Farmer's Market on August
14.  We will be looking for to sign up Palos Heights residents for library cards
and giving out book bags.

Stop by the City Tent to meet State Sen. Bill Cunningham (18th) and State Rep
Fran Hurley (35th) from 10 AM to 1 PM.  They look
forward to meeting local residents, answering questions about state government,
and speaking with attendees about state and local issues. Hurley and Cunningham
represent the Palos Heights area in the Illinois General
Assembly.
