Palos Heights Farmers Market

The Palos Heights Farmers Market will be open Wednesday July 24th, from 7 AM to 1 PM, at 12217 S Harlem Ave in Palos Heights.

The Palos Heights Public Library will have a children's Story Hour at 10 AM. Come and hear fun summertime stories, sing songs, and do a craft. While at the library tent, you can become a member, meet the library staff and learn about upcoming programs. The Friends of the Library will be at the market Wednesday July 31 to promote the upcoming Used Book Sale, held at the library August 2-6th.

Local artist Bonne Duewerth, of "Quit Your Wineing" painted glasses, will be the guest of the Community Tent. Bonnie will be selling glasses for everyday and many special occasions, such as weddings or showers, collegiate logos, and more. Stop by and see all she has to offer.

Mark your calendars for the first of 2 Canning Demonstrations to be held Wednesday July 31st at 7 PM, at the office of Dr. John Principe MD. The office is at 11950 S Harlem Ave. Doors open at 6:30, and admission is $15, and is limited to 30 guests. Please call 708-448-9450 to reserve your spot today. The first session will feature pickling, and the second (to be held on August 28th) will feature tomatoes and salsa. There will be a raffle and other giveaways. Hope you can make it!

There is a full selection of fruits and vegetables in the market every week. Other items include pizza products and pesto, tamales, organic breads and bakery, eggs, cheeses and butter, jams and honey, kettle corn, olive oils and vinegars, salsas, hormone free, antibiotic free, non-GMO fed beef and pork, beautiful perennial plants and garden supplies, yard art, knife sharpening services and Shaklee products. Richert-Phillips Farm has information about their Fall CSA program. Stop by their tent for more information.
