As we were shaking off our post-holiday malaise, the towns of Palos were buzzing with news this week. Here is a look back at the stories Palos Patch covered over this first week of 2011.

  • For the next three months local elections will continue to be a hot topic as April 5 gets closer. This week the local electoral board in Palos Park to rule on objections filed against three commissioner candidates. To read the full story . 
  • At the same time Palos Park officials were making their ruling, just yards away the Palos Fire Protection District Board of Trustees was discussing what they believe to be a serious lack of funds. The board a referendum on April's ballot asking for a tax rate increase.
