Stagg High School student Eileen Lennon participated in the Smith-Walbridge Drum Major Camp at Eastern Illinois University in July. Because of her participation in this camp, she was eligible to submit an audition tape for the Macy's All-American Band. Her successful audition will allow her to spend a week in New York City, as the band rehearses and prepares for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Eileen has been drum major of the Marching Chargers for two years. Her responsibilities as drum major are numerous, many of them involving time outside of the typical rehearsal schedule. Eileen is always one of the first students to arrive and one of the last to leave. She takes great pride in her work, and is the embodiment of a student leader.
