Stagg choir incorporates iPad into classroom

Stagg High School choir teacher, Chris Betz, is bringing technology into his choir classrooms. Mr. Betz is one of the District 230 teachers who received a classroom set of iPads acquired from a technology grant.

Mr. Betz  incorporates the iPads with all his choir classes daily. The students use the tablets to read music and are able to annotate on the device.

Junior Dicy Mulchrone said, “It is easier to annotate with the iPad than with paper and pencil.”

Overall, the students feel technology saves a tremendous amount of time because everything they need is in one place. Students no longer have to  dig in their backpacks for pencils, highlighters, and papers.

At first, getting acclimated was slightly cumbersome; however, now the students say they are comfortable using the iPads.  Mr. Bets is pleased that the students are as excited as he is about the iPads, he said this new technology has, “unbelievable possibilities.”
