Stagg band ready for marching season
Stagg High School’s Marching Chargers began preparing for the 2013-14 band season over the summer and have been going strong ever since.
Drum Majors Eileen Lennon, Anna Swiech and Cameryn Wysocki gave a great show at the Smith-Walbridge Drum Major Camp, held at Eastern Illinois University. All three received several accolades for their tremendous work at the camp.
The Marching Chargers have had weekly rehearsals since the summer months began, and met as a full ensemble for the first time at the end of July. The students have worked very hard the entire summer, and have done a great job so far preparing their show for the fall “ Star-Cross’d Love.”

The Marching Chargers arrived at Robert Allerton Park in Monticello, IL on Saturday, August 3 and spent five days rehearsing music, learning marching movements, and participating in various team building activities.
“The students set a great pace at camp this year, and it is clearly a testament to their tremendous work ethic,” said Director Bob Mecozzi. “The camp was a tremendous experience for all, and many thanks are in order to the parents and staff that helped make it possible.”
