Fast Facts: The SouthWest Suburban Blue has become one of the south suburbs’ toughest basketball conferences, and the emergence of these two programs shows the depth of the league. Joliet Central is 2-1 since playing in the McDipper Tournament over the holidays, beating Joliet West and Lincoln-Way East while falling to perennial power Homewood-Flossmoor. Coble leads the way for the Steelmen, averaging 16.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Dyson is a solid rebounder at 6-foot-4, hauling down 6.6 per game to go with 11.2 points. Stagg has stumbled a bit since jumping out to an 8-0 start to get everybody’s attention. The Chargers are 4-5 since, losing all five games in the fourth quarter by not finishing strong. That hasn’t stopped Strus from posting huge numbers. He’s averaging 19.4 points per game to go with 133 rebounds, 26 steals and 43 assists. A three-year starter, Strus is uncommitted for college at this point. White, the point guard, is averaging 14.0 points per game. Goral is the team’s main threat from three-point range and averages 9.4 points per game.
