Nationally the unemployment rate stands at 8.3 percent and in Illinois it sits at 9.1 percent. To put it plainly: it's tough to find a job. Here at Palos Patch we hope to make it a bit easier.

Office Manager - Palos Heights

The City of Palos Heights is on the hunt for a qualified office manager. The position is full-time with benefits. A minimum of 5 years of administrative assistant or secretarial experience is preferred. Experience in a parks and recreation setting and a four-year college degree are also preferred.

Jimmy John's - Palos Heights

Your neighborhood sandwich shop is looking for new employees, or as the sign on their door puts it, "Rock Stars Wanted." in Palos Heights is accepting applications. You can stop in to pick one up.

Network Specialist - Palos Heights

has an opening for a full-time network specialist. The job listing says, "This position requires extensive hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, supporting and managing relevant networks." Building Official - Palos Park

The Village of Palos Park is looking for a full-time building official. This person would review permit applications and plans, conduct inspections and assist in updating codes among other duties. You should have experience in code administration and construction. The full job description has application information and additional details.  

Academic Tutors - Moraine Valley 

Moraine Valley Community College is looking for academic tutors who would work out of the school's Blue Island outpost. The positions are 10 hours per week and pay $15 an hour. Bachelor's degrees are required, and a master's degree if preferred. There are positions in both English and math. The full posting has application information.
