Sperone's on Harlem: What Should Go Here?

This former Italian joint sits on a prime piece of Harlem Avenue real estate. Do you want another restaurant to move in? Or would you rather see some new kind of business?

Before things to a turn for the worse, Sperone's was part of a spate of new businesses that popped up between 122nd and 124th streets on Harlem in 2010 and 2011, including Papa's Fresh Foods and Chalet Florist. That same area also has struggled to keep other tenants, such as Baumann's Bakery, which was featured on a previous installment of "What Should Go Here?"

Sperone's an American and traditional Italian restaurant, opened in May 2010 along Harlem Avenue.

While it was still around, Sperone's featured live music and DJ's weekly in its restaurant area and bar. It closed in July.
