Royalberry Takes Breakfast Alfresco

The waffle house recently opened a new outdoor patio that has customers thrilled.

Just in time for a cool fall to descend on Palos Heights, has added to the City's outdoor dining options.

While on a visit overseas in July, restaurant co-owner Frank Salman saw a breakfast place with outdoor seating and decided he wanted to have the same thing.

"The next day after I came back, I went and talked to an architect, I talked to the City, got bids for a concrete and a fence company," Salman said.

Feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, Salman said.

"They love it. People that come in say 'It's beautiful, it's great. We really need something like this in Palos Heights,'" Salman said.

Eight tables of four seats are now available for al fresco dining.

Salman, 42, a Palos Heights resident, bought the restaurant in 2004 with his brother Zeek Salman, 44, of Orland Park.
