Inside Look: Jordan's Reopens as Ale House Grill

The Orland Park bar and restaurant gets a makeover and reopened with a renovated upper level sports bar, new menu, craft beers and two outdoor patios.

Jordan’s Pub and Eatery, on the boarder of Orland Park and Palos Heights, reopened in early May as the Ale House Grill.

The business located at 135th Street and Harlem Avenue is divided into two areas. The first floor restaurant is open for lunch at 11 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. The second floor sports bar opens just before happy hour at 4 p.m. and closes at 4 a.m. Patios have been added to both first and second floors. More windows bring in more natural light, and a lot of aesthetic updating has happened throughout the establishment.

Certain menu items from Jordan’s remain, such as their nachos.

“People would come here after 2 a.m. just to grab nachos,” said Dee Zullo, a longtime bartender.

But the regular menu has expanded beyond bar fare with steaks, pastas including gluten free options, soups including Manhattan clam chowder, more seafood options such as a pepper Mahi Au Poivre and grilled shrimp and scallop skewers, as well as other choices.

General manager Doug Engberg said operator John Jordan wanted to not only build up the appearance, but also develop a menu cooked by experienced chefs to build up lunch and dinner service.

“We think there’s a big demand for it in this area,” Engberg said.
