Check Out These Unusual Treats at Tastee Freez

The Palos Heights ice cream shop has added some new items to catch customers attentions.

It might be considered decadent to put bacon on a hot dog but what would you call a bacon wrapped dog, deep-fried, covered in cheese and peppers?

At Tastee Freez in Palos Heights, it's known as the Pit Bull.

“We were tried of the same old dog,” said owner Diane Goerg. "That’s where we got the name. This ain’t no wimpy dog.”

Tastee Freez recently added a few new and, frankly, unusual items.

Among the new treats on the menu at the ice cream shop is the Double Grilled Cheese Quarter Pound Burger. This, as the name might imply, comes with two grilled cheese sandwiches in place of buns.

Coincidently, Tastee Freez was named best burger by Palos Patch readers, so they apparently know a thing or two about delivering a tasty burger.

Tastee Freez is located at 11906 S Harlem Ave. Stop by and see the rest of what they offer.
