Caprio's Closed? Former Owner Says Changes Coming

The restaurant could reopen as soon as early October.

Rosario Caprio, who started the business, sold it to a new owner on April 16. While it kept the same name, the restaurant closed exactly four months to the day under the new ownership.

"I had the best year I ever had in 2011 and I sold it just because I had a good offer," Caprio said. The new owner got out after it became clear he was "in over his head.”

Caprio had financed a small portion of the sale and regained ownership when the last owner fell out. He said new owners, who already run a couple of suburban restaurants, are ready to take over soon. While a name change is possible, Caprio believes the new bosses will keep pizza on the menu.

The businessmen are working through a broker. More details will become available as the deal progresses.
