Business Comings and Goings: New Salon, Wig Boutique and Papa John's

A look at new businesses moving into town and a wave goodbye to those departed.

As part of the Palos Heights   will add several outlots, one of which will be filled by a new Wendy's.

Not to be out done, the fast food spot across the street is planning some shiny new digs. , 7100 W. 127th Street, will completely rebuild their existing location to fit in with the chain's more modern design sensibilities.

Last week the city council approved of the restaurants plan to keep the same sign, and just add an LED-style message board below. Construction is scheduled to start next summer and would take about four months to complete.

Bisi Beauty Wig Boutique/Granny's Blessings

The new shop, 12416 S. Harlem Avenue, specializes in wigs for cancer patients. The company also offers home care services to the elderly. The shop previously .   

J'adore Nawal Salon

The salon will offer hair, makeup and nail services to its clients. Located at 7056 W. 127th Street the stylists boast decades of experience. J'adore Nawal has a Facebook page with more information

Papa John's Pizza

The popular pizza chain will debut a new Palos Heights location at 7154 W. 127th Street in the coming months. The chain was started in Indiana and recently celebrated the opening of its 3,000th location in North America .   

Alexander's Restaurant

It looks like Palos Heights will be home to a new dining spot that will serve both American and Bohemian food.  Alexander's, 13248 S. 76th Avenue, will take the place of the former Toby's Restaurant at the . There has been no exact opening date set. 

The Money Shop to Close

After 12 years in business , 7300 W College Drive, will close its doors on Oct. 31. The mortgage and loan company was operated by Chuck Toland, who also serves as an alderman in Oak Forest

Rumors

I have had several readers write in to ask if the Palos Heights had plans to close. Both a spokesperson for the company and city officials say that there are absolutely no plans to shutter that location.
