Shepard marching band fourth out of 25 bands at U of I competition

The marching band from Shepard High School delivered a sterling performance this weekend at the University of Illinois Marching Illini Classic.

The Marching Astros won second place in Class 5A. Perhaps more impressively, the band placed fourth among all schools competing in Classes 4A to 6A.

It's the latest chapter in the band's long history of awards and individual achievement. Shepard graduate Christopher Pitlik has directed the band program for more than 20 years and shaped the program into a perennial winner.

Here's video of the band's performance at the University of Illinois last Saturday.
