Shepard Collecting To Cover Funeral Costs For 3 Gunned Down

Funeral services are set for a mother and her two children who were gunned down by their father last week.

Services for Michelle Ollie, 42, and her children, Steven Roe, 17, and Trisidion Worsham, 15, will be held Friday, Feb. 14, at Holy Temple Evangelistic Church, 15912 S. Lincoln Ave., in Harvey. The funeral is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

Police said the teens' father, Michael Worsham, 43, shot them and their mother in their Robbins home, before dying of a heart attack, the Chicago Tribune reported.

A 14-year-old boy and his 5-year-old nephew, survived the attack by running from their house. Trisdion attempted to follow her brother, but she was shot in the back by her father on the family’s front porch, police said.

Alan B. Shepard High School has organized a relief effort to help pay funeral costs for Steven and Trisdion, where both teens and their 14-year-old brother attended school.

Donations will also go toward the education of the 14-year-old boy who is being called a hero.

Shepard and the Village of Robbins are both working together to raise funds for the family.

“Our hearts go out to the Roe and Worsham families,” said Shepard Principal Dr. Josh Barron in a written statement. “Now, we're just trying to do everything possible for them financially and spiritually.”

Friends, parents and students at Shepard continued to express their shock over the deaths on the high school’s Facebook page.

Well-wishers praised the mother, Michelle, for her dedication to family and her work to improve the lives of troubled youth. Said one commenter on the Shepard Facebook page:

“Michelle was a wonderful person who was full of life and love, it’s still hard to believe she's gone along with her babies.”
