Art Classes at The Center

New six-week sessions of art classes begin the second week in January at the Log Cabin Center for the Arts, 12700 Southwest Highway in Palos Park.   The Log Cabins are located in the woods and feature the natural beauty of the Palos area.

Calligraphy classes with Marge Boyd begin on Monday afternoon, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m., and Collage class is taught by April Schabes on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m.    

Weaving classes with Nettie Botts are on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m., Quilting classes with Denise Dulzo are on Wednesday afternoons at 1 p.m., and Knitting classes with Laurie Lortz happen on Thursday evenings, at 6:30 p.m.

New Watercolor Painting classes begin on Jan. 12 and 13, taught by Lenox Wallace at 6:30 p.m. for beginners on Wednesday nights and for  experienced painters for Thursday nights.  Lois Hrejsa teaches Watercolor class at 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoons for both beginners and experienced painters, and Pen and Ink Drawing Class on Thursday mornings, at 9 a.m.

Keith Miller teaches woodcarving  to both new and experienced carvers beginning Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 a.m.  New lapidary classes begin on Tuesday evening, Jan. 11 at 6:30 with Dan and Sonya Snyder and Dave Sanders.
