Free Electronic Recycling and Paper Shredding in Palos Heights Saturday

Find out where and when to safely recycle your old electronics.

If you've got some junk, now is the time to dump it.

A free electronic recycling and paper shredding event will be held in Palos Heights on Saturday, Aug. 31. Residents are free to drop off things like computers and televisions to be recycled.

Free paper shredding will also be available and is limited to two boxes per person. If you have old prescription drugs on hand, you can dispose of those during the event as well.

You can offload your items to recycle in the parking lot west of the Palos Heights Police Department on College Drive. Items will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is sponsored by Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens, the Palos Heights Library and the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce.

If you have questions about what can and can't be recycled, or need further information about the event call Lake Katherine at 708-361-1873.
