What Should Go Here? Cold Stone Creamery

A corner location near Ridgeland and 135th is empty. What business could come to Palos Heights and take that spot?

An ice cream chain couldn't stay afloat in Palos Heights but that just means a new business can potentially move in.

Cold Stone Creamery, for a while could be found near the intersection of Ridgeland Avenue and 135th Street, closed. It was in a great location and was near such other fantastic local restaurants, including Al's Pizzeria. The empty storefront also is just down the road from Shepard High School and all the hungry students who attend.

Palos Heights is seeing some impressive new business development so I wouldn't be surprised if this location is snatched up soon.

What about the building that used to be the Bakers Square on 127th st just west of Ridgeland? It has been an empty eyesore for 5yrs! What about the Sperrones building on 123rd Harlem? What about the countless other empty buildings in Palos Heights that are empty? What is Palos Heights doing to draw anything other then banks and doctors!

Until this nation comes to terms with it's staggering indebtedness and this state, which is deplorably managed by QuinnMadigan, is reformed more and more empty store fronts will be the result.

Panera would work in Palos Heights.

I dont think the corner of 135th Ridgeland is a great location for any business. Look at the three vacant store fronts in opposite corner that houses a 7-11 and a gas station. These have been vacant for at least nine years !! Look at the restuarant turnover for starters.

Agree. The history of these locations spells doom to any business except the 7-11.

The problem with drawing more business to PH is there is so much already so close. Every time you go to a place in Orland or Tinley or Oak Lawn or somewhere else close, that store tracks that you've made a purchase there. They know that people from PH will go to these close by towns to shop so they don't need to put a store in PH to get our money. It's an uphill battle.
