Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Vote: Who Has the Most Loved Pizza in Palos?

The Patch Pizza Playoffs are under way, and we need your help picking the best in Palos.

The time has come for us to answer the eternal question: Who makes the best pizza in town?

Patch is on a mission to find the most loved pizza in the Southland and we need your help to select a winner. All week, I have been hearing from the Palos Patch Facebook fans about who makes the best pie in Palos.

Now it's time to put it to a vote. The winner of the Palos round will go on to face the best other towns have to offer. In the end, only one pizza pie will be left standing.

We decided to limit the competition and did not include national or regional chains and franchises. Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5. We figured pizza and the big game go hand in hand.

You will be able to vote once per day, so get out the word to all your friends and let them know your favorite place is in the running for some serious bragging rights. Whichever Palos establishment is chosen, I am confident we can take on any town in the Southland.

While you are at it, you should also leave a review of your pick in the Places Directory. I am sure they would appreciate the love.

Hey! Durbin's in Palos Hills should be on that list!

I agree Durbins should be on that list! It used to be Henrys which was an "institution" of pizza growing up in Palos Hills for YEARS! Not fair at all. Not going to vote as they should be in this! Getting snubbed :(

I didn't include Durbin's because we limited it to places with one or at most a couple of locations. Because Durbin's has a number of locations across the south suburbs we thought it would be an unfair advantage. Plus, they have locations in at least three other Patch towns so the next round of voting would have gotten complicated. You can always leave them a great review on the Places page on Patch: http://palos.patch.com/listings/durbins-pizza

Durbin's is not a franchise--they simply have multiple locations and are as independent as any of the others on the list. I certainly understand the potential for voting confusion--still it seems they are penalized for their success.

Al's is the best in Palos and the surrounding burbs, way better than Durbins even if they were eligible. It wouldnt be fair to include a chain restaurant like Durbins anyway because they have locations in several towns.

I would like to thank the people for caring about Durbins being that we are a small family owned business. Jeanie and Bob come on in and have a pizza on us.
Thanks, The McAuliffe Family

Shannon we all give you a hearty you are welcome! I was the second to comment above about the unfairness being afforded to Durbin's, f/k/a Henry's (in palos hills)! It IS a local staple in our area and while I understand why your establishment is being snubbed, I am still NOT voting as I think it is still unfair. Why do one of the Patch properties have it on their page and this one feels it is not necessary? STILL NOT FAIR! ROCK ON DURBINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say Al's by far. Pizza is not just pizza there is a craft to making a great pizza & Al's is the masters of that craft. Always the same great taste never miss a beat. Definitely Al's has the greatest pizza around. That's what the "A" in Al's stands for "A+"

Cardolones is delicious pub pizza. Great specials thru the week and the choice of 3 types of sauces make it great pizza. The fresh ingredients and wisconsin cheese make it even better then all the others.
