Work to replace the bridge over Mill Creek on Cal Sag Road was scheduled to begin this week and commuters should expect to detour through November.

Route 83 will be closed east of LaGrange Road in Palos Park. The detour directs drivers to LaGrange via 123rd Street and Southwest Highway to reconnect with Cal Sag.

The Illinois Department of Transportation, who announced the project, expects to finish Nov. 21.

Homes and businesses east and west of the creek will still be accessible.
