Drivers accustomed to taking Route 83 west through Palos Park will find their favored roadway free again.

Construction over Mill Creek to replace the bridge completed earlier this week. Route 83 reopened to traffic Monday night.

The highway had closed in mid-September, east of LaGrange Road in Palos Park. Traffic detoured to 123rd Street and Southwest Highway during the bridge work.

Homes and businesses east and west of the creek were accessible during those two months.
