Police Continue to Investigate Fatal Palos Park Accident
A 89-year-old Palos Park woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening near her home.
Police continue to investigate an accident that resulted in the death of an elderly Palos Park woman Friday night.
Mary Infatino, 89, of St. Moritz Drive in Palos Park, was pronounced dead at 5:39 p.m Friday at Christ Advocate Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman.
Infatino was struck at 4:57 p.m. by a van that was driven by an 80-year-old Palos Park resident who was turning left onto St. Moritz Drive from Route 83, Palos Park police said.
It is believed Infatino was attempting to cross the street near her home when she was struck, police said.
Palos Park police and the Palos Area Reconstruction Team are still investigating the incident, although weather did not appear to be a contributing factor, police said.
