Nominees

Jubril Adekoya, Andrew, boys basketball: Adekoya had a career high 33 for Andrew, including 17-19 from the line. His 17 FTs are a new school record for a single game. Adekoya added a school record 21 boards in a 59-53 loss to Thornton. 

Mike Burke, Homewood-Flossmoor, junior, wrestling. Burke won 2-0 over Jim Pellegrino of Sandburg in a rematch of last year's state tournament match. 

Steven Grant, Richards, sophomore, bowling: Grant took fifth place at the Oak Forest Bowling Invitational. 

Kayla Kieklak, Lincoln-Way North, girls basketball: She was 8-of-10 from the free throw line and score all of North's 17 fourth quarter points to beat Homewood-Flossmoor 44-42, according to Sun-Times Media.

Taylor Knight, Sandurg: senior, boys bowling: Knight rolled a 277 game to help Sandburg win the Oak Forest bowling tournament. It was his career best. 

Paige Pierson, Stagg, senior, cheerleading: The athletics office nominated Pierson for being captain and an outstanding leader and student athlete. 

Matt Schneider, Lincoln-Way Central, wrestling, suffered a busted eye in a victory last week, then came back to give Lincoln-Way Central a lead in its most recent tournament. The Knights beat Andrew 39-31.
