Palos Heights Police Blotter: Stolen Snowblower, Tinley Park Police Arrest Man on Palos DUI Warrant

Palos Heights police reports, Jan. 27-31

 

MONDAY, JAN. 31

Drug Possession

David M. Tieman, 19, of the 5200 block of 121st Street in Alsip, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seat belt. Police said they stopped Tieman’s car in the 12100 block of Ridgeland Avenue around 10:50 a.m. for not wearing a seat belt and found marijuana and a glass smoking pipe.

SUNDAY, JAN. 30

DUI

Jay T. Ferrin, 33, of the 10500 block of Kedvale Avenue in Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding. Police said they stopped Ferrin’s car in the 12600 block of Harlem Avenue around 8:40 p.m. in connection with speeding.

SATURDAY, JAN. 29

Cops Can’t Find What Man Hit

Gregory Perkins, 35, of the 16300 block of Terrace Court in Orland Hills, was arrested on a Palos Heights warrant for failure to appear on drunken driving charges, police said. Tinley Park police said they found Perkins at about 2:30 a.m., slouched over the driver's seat of a car parked by a store on the 16600 block of Oak Park Avenue with alcohol on his breath and fresh damage along both sides of the car as well as the entire front end. There were pieces of shrubbery in the wheel wells and undercarriage, but officers said they couldn't find any damaged bushes or trees in the area.

DUI Alleged

  • Cindy Zila, 39, of the 7200 block of 113th Place in Worth, was charged with DUI and speeding. Police said they stopped Zila’s car in the 12800 block of Harlem Avenue around 1 a.m. in connection with speeding.
  • Jeffrey W. Widdowson, 56, of the 10700 block of Depot Street in Worth, was charged with DUI and speeding. Police said they stopped Widdowson’s car in the 12200 block of Harlem Avenue around 11:55 p.m. for allegedly speeding.

Stolen Cell Phone and Accessory

Sometime between 3 p.m. Jan. 28 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 29, a cell phone and hand-free cell phone device were taken from two unlocked cars parked in the driveway of a home in the 6700 block of Navajo Drive, police said.

Property Damage

Sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., the side mirrors of a car parked in a driveway in the 12500 block of Melvina Avenue were damaged, police said.

FRIDAY, JAN. 28

Stolen Snowblower

Sometime between Jan. 21 and Jan. 28, a snow blower was taken from an unlocked garage in the 12700 block of 69th Court, police said. The item is valued at more than $300.

THURSDAY, JAN. 27

DUI

Jessica M. Bautista, 18, of the 5200 block of Maplewood in Chicago, was charged with DUI, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said they stopped Bautista’s car around 4 a.m. in the 13000 block of Harlem Avenue for speeding.

Stolen Credit Card

A credit card was taken from the locker of an employee at Palos Community Hospital around 4:15 p.m. and then used without permission at the Citgo gas station in Palos Park, police said.
