Lewd Letters
Thomas McKeating, 45, of the 3700 block of 115th Street in Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct. McKeating sent two sexually explicit letters addressed to a 17-year-old girl on the 12900 block of 70th Court, police said.
Tuesday, Dec. 28
Cash Stolen at Medical Complex
An employee of a medical complex in the 11800 block of Southwest Highway discovered cash was taken from her purse after seeing a suspicious person inside the building around 11:28 a.m, police said. Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a suspicious person who claimed to be looking for a doctor whose office is actually located in Orland Park, said Sgt. Tim Holder.
Police were unable to locate the suspicious person, but a short time later, the employee discovered about $300 in cash had been taken from her wallet. Holder says the fact that it was cash and not credit cards taken makes the thief difficult to track.
Cash Stolen From Purse
Around 2:55 p.m., an employee of a store in the 12200 block of Harlem Avenue discovered her wallet containing $180 was taken from her purse, police said. The wallet did not contain any credit cards. This theft is not believed to be related to the medical complex theft that occurred earlier the same day, Holder said

Marijuana Possession
Thomas Murphy, 23, of the 3100 block of Palisades in Alsip, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without insurance and improper lane usage. At about 1:08 a.m. Murphy was stopped in the 13100 block of Harlem Avenue for crossing the center line, police said. Officers smelled burnt marijuana and preformed a field sobriety test which Murphy failed, police said.
Saturday, Jan. 1
Marijuana Bust
Konstantinos A. Stameson, 20, of the 9600 block of Marion in Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of marijuana. Stameson was stopped in the 12300 block of Ridgeland Avenue at about 5:50 p.m. for an obstructed windshield, police said. Police conducted a K-9 search and discovered a clear plastic bag with about 120 grams of marijuana in the trunk, police said.
Sunday, Jan. 2
Expired License
Firas Isa, 21, of the 12900 block of Cypress Lane in Palos Heights, was charged with obstructing a police officer, driving on an expired license, and driving with one headlamp. Isa was stopped in the 13000 block of Harlem Avenue around 7:30 p.m. for only having one headlamp, police said. He initially gave a false name and when his real name was discovered it was learned that his license was expired, police said.
Monday, Jan. 3
Speeding Into an Arrest
Robert Griggs, 23, of the 8800 block of Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, was charged with obstructing a police officer, driving on a revoked license, speeding and transportation of open alcohol. Griggs was stopped in the 6600 block of College Drive at about 12:05 a.m. for speeding and gave a false name to the officer, police said. Once his real name was learned it was discovered that his driver's license had been revoked and that he had outstanding warrants, police said.
