Palos Heights Official Put on Leave, Could Request Hearing by Next Week
James Dougherty no longer is serving as the City's Building Commissioner, Mayor Bob Straz confirmed.
A City of Palos Heights official has been placed on leave due to a undisclosed personnel issue.
Mayor Bob Straz confirmed Friday that Building Commissioner James Dougherty has until next week to ask for a hearing regarding an “internal personnel matter.”
Straz declined to say what the circumstances were that led to Dougherty being placed on leave. Dougherty has been on leave from his position since last week.
Employees can request a hearing under the City’s personnel guidelines, Straz said.
“He has a right to do that,” Straz added.
