Moraine Valley Community Church in Palos Hills is selling its building and five acre lot to Moraine Valley Community College, according to Sun-Times media.
The church agreed to a purchase price of $825,000 and the space will be used for additional classrooms, the report said.
Located at 8601 W. 107th Place in Palos Hills, the congregation has decreased in numbers over recent years and a sale was necessary to keep the congregation going. The church will now worship in rented space in Worth.
The church is also home to Elsie's Food Pantry, which provides food to local families in need.

The pantry will now operate out of Savior Divine Lutheran Church, 10040 S. 88th Ave.
