The proposed Palos Town Square retail development will get another look Tuesday night as members of the Palos Heights Planning and Zoning Committee are scheduled to discuss the matter at their monthly meeting.
The retail development was given preliminary approval from the Planning Unit Development Commission in a 7-1 vote on June 11. The four alderman who sit on the Planning and Zoning Committee also sit on the PUD Commission.
Ald. Alan Fulkerson was the lone dissenting vote. At the time he characterized the proposal as not "forward thinking enough."

The preliminary plan calls for 90 percent of the space to be classified as retail. The tenants would likely be national outfits, said developer Tad Lagestee.
A sit-down casual restaurant, bank and auto repair center were floated as possible tenants, although no exact companies were named.
"We are doing something that's simple, that's functional and that works," Lagestee said earlier this month. "It is not too complex, or too dense with too many parking requirements or hoops to jump through."
At Tuesday's meeting aldermen Jack Clifford, Alan Fulkerson, Jeff Key and Michael McGrogan will discuss the plan in more depth.
Aesthetic issues, the use of TIF funds, considerations for the soon to be built Cal-Sag Trail and tenant types are all issues that have to be clarified.
The meeting is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. at Palos Heights City Hall. PDF copies of the agenda and site plan are attached to this article.
The plan is still required to go before the entire council.
