George and Judy Rock moved their store from Oak Lawn last year and haven't looked back.

The Rocks started their gift store in Oak Lawn three years ago but found the location not so ideal for foot traffic. After the lease came up for renewal, the moved and opened at the Palos Heights location on the day before Thanksgiving last year.

"This is becoming a happening corner," said George Rock, who pointed to the new businesses and development that has popped up at the corner of Harlem Avenue and 127th Street.

Every Good Gift on 127th Street sells custom imprinted and embroidered items. One of the store's hooks is that they don't charge for the setup and design, making it rather ideal for those who are looking for a specific look. Their speciality is customization and personalization.

"Some people come in and say 'I need something but I don't know what,'" Rock said.

Judy Rock had operated "Sew Different", her own embroidery business, for 10 years before the Palos Heights couple decided open a store. While it worked out "OK" in Oak Lawn, George said, moving to their hometown has been better for business.

Every Good Gift was named Palos Heights' Business of the Week for Oct. 26 to Nov. 2. Rock said he welcomes the recognition from the city's business promotion.

The store is located at 7150 W. 127th St., Palos Heights.
