Police Hit Gang Members With More Charges in Palos Burglaries
Christopher J. Carter, 20, and Tyrone Hughes, 22, are accused of burglarizing homes in Palos Heights and Frankfort.
Christopher J. Carter, 20, and Tyrone Hughes, 22, both of Chicago, were charged with three counts each of residential burglary on Friday, police said. They were charged with possession of stolen property earlier in the week. Carter also faces an extra count of unlawful use of a weapon.
The two men are suspected in Palos Heights burglaries from Sept. 13 and Oct. 1, said Palos Heights Detective Tim Holder. Police believe Gangster Disciples are burglarizing homes across the suburbs.
Carter and Hughes are accused of using a ruse where they pretend to be a crew mowing lawns.
On Tuesday, Palos Heights police stopped a white pickup in the 12200 block of Cheyenne Drive. Police said they saw a jewelry box in the truck’s bed and several pieces of jewelry inside the cab.
