What stood out to me was how nervous both men were. Ryan couldn't stop drinking and Biden couldn't stop ridiculing. My guess is no minds were changed. I would have liked to hear more about ObamaCare. My husband just got out of Good Samaritan Hospital and the staff were disconsolate because the hospital is preparing to lay off about 150 people. I can't remember another campaign in my lifetime that was so crucial.

I thought I would share this statement received in an email from a friend who is completely in disagreement with me about this particular election. And amazingly, I am 100% in agreement with him. His idea would certainly make the debates more interesting. His comments are below:

Against my better judgement, I watched the VP debates tonight. Yes, of course, I was drinking, how do you put yourself through this without fortification ?

My conclusion: even without vodka, I could have whipped both of those losers in the debate without so much as a minutes preparation. Why? Because they never addressed the concerns and issues of the American people.

So: in the future, I propose that debates have 1 republican, 1 democrat and 1 representative of the American citizen who can address the issues without being afraid of the political and political correct fallout. Someone who speaks the truth that is heard in the marketplace, the church, the community and the local tavern...the places where citizens congregate.

Will we ever see the day when the common citizenry is heard and considered? No, I doubt it. Unfortunately, I think that our opinions will only be heard through the megaphones of protest and the gun barrels of revolution.
