Driver Ticketed in T-Bone Crash Wednesday Morning

Police said the drivers from both cars involved in an early Wednesday morning crash were released from Palos Community Hospital and didn't suffer any serious injuries.

An 18-year-old driver has been ticketed her pickup truck flipped in a crash early Wednesday morning.

Both her and another woman in a different car were taken to Palos Community Hospital as a precaution, according to Palos Heights police. Neither driver involved in the wreck that happened at 6:49 a.m. in the intersection of Route 83 and Harlem Avenue was seriously hurt.

The pickup driver made a left-hand turn from Route 83 onto Harlem during a yellow light when the other driver smashed into her passenger side, causing the 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac to flip nearly completely over, according to police.

Police said the 18-year-old woman said she thought the other driver would stop for the yellow. She was cited for failure to yield.

The 49-year-old woman in the other car was driving a 1998 BMW.
