Over 8 minutes to get an officer to respond to a violent crime. Makes me feel better about living in unincorp. Palos! That's literally a life time if you have a intruder in your house intending to do you harm. Exersize your second amendment rights and get your reps to pass conceled carry in IL!

If I were to walk into my parent's bedroom to find them laying dead in their own blood, it would take the entire police department to calm me down and prevent me from going into shock. My dear Johnny, you seem just a bit too calm in your 911 call. It was very courteous of you to stand on the corner and wait to assist the police officers. By the way.... during your 911 call you asked if you should "hop in". I am assuming you were referring to the fire departments vehicle. I find this odd. No, I find this BIZARRE. Did you think you were going on a wild ride out of a Disney movie? John, YOUR PARENTS ARE LAYING DEAD IN THEIR BEDROOM! HELLO? Oh, John, one more thing that keeps "nagging at my craw". If you just looked in the room and then ran out of the house, how did you know they were dead? If you didn't rush to their side to grasp at ANY hope of them having life in them, you certainly did rush to the conclusion that they were dead. Hmmmmm, just wondering lil John.

Why in the world would it take 8 minutes for the police to arrive??? It's not that large of a town....they should have been there in less than 5 minutes from the time the call was made.

Too bad Illinois doesn't have the death penalty?? Too bad they can't be tried in another state so he and his hoodlum friends can be fried. What drives kids to do something like this. Pot wouldn't cause this (he grew it I read). Maybe meth? It's going to be tuff thinking about this crime for the next 50-70 years in prison. John, you'll see, if you haven't already, that you had the perfect life and blew it because you couldn't get your way all the time.

Listen to the audio.
I can't believe it took so long for them to get there. The fire dept. got there sooner.
What the heck were the police doing??? You can drive across from one end of Palos to Palos Park in less than eight minutes especially if you have a siren and flashing lights!! Why don't the police just lead the criminals right to Palos just get in and out in less than 7 minutes and they won't catch you!!

Is that all you people can talk about is why it took the cops so long to arrive? It was a Sunday morning. The few cops who were on duty may have been busy working other overnight crimes such as burglaries. They may have have stopped off for breakfast since it was 7:15am. By the way, the 911 dispatcher handled this call very well. She did a great job holding him on the line, otherwise he may have thought about the situation and fled.

Knowing this family, have him go to the school i graduated from, just kills me. I knew this kid. I cannot believe how sick in the head someone has to be to be so calm about their own parents laying in their blood, pretending to be so innocent. Your own parents. They have done everything in their freaking power to make life as good as it can be, and you take away the only thing that has ever given you life. I hope you enjoy the rest of your life locked up. John and Maria did not deserve this. May they Rest in Peace. Ugh, thinking about this whole situation makes me sick to my stomach,
