The speech team from Shepard High School continued its dominant early season form by placing second at the very challenging Thornridge TRee Tournament.

Highlights for the Astros, who have won six tournaments this fall, included champions Lindsie Bliss (Informative Speaking), Enrique Montoya (Prose Reading); and, Mike Reddy (Radio Speaking). 

Runners-up at Thornridge included Montoya in Special Occasion Speaking, Tasha Wierzal in Impromptu Speaking, and Xuxa Santos in Poetry Reading.
